Coffee stops in Maastricht

Where to pause between the station, the bookshop and the Jekerkwartier.

Wyck before the bridge

Café Zondag is close to the route from the station, at Wycker Brugstraat 42. It is useful when people are arriving separately and you want a meeting point before sightseeing. The café does not take reservations, so a large group should have a second plan rather than assuming a single table will be available.

Dominicanen for the building

The café in the former church’s choir fits a visit to the bookshop. Leave time to browse before sitting down. It is a memorable interior but also a working retail space: keep bags and photography out of the aisles. Combine it with Vrijthof rather than crossing town purely between coffee stops.

Vlaai at the mill

Bisschopsmolen on Stenenbrug suits the southern part of a walk. Choose a slice from the day’s counter, then look for the wheel before continuing to Helpoort. Check the bakery’s opening day first; the usual Monday closure changes a route built around this stop.

Choose the pause, not a checklist

For an arrival morning, stay in Wyck. For books and a church interior, choose Dominicanen. For a walk beside the Jeker, choose the mill. One relaxed stop generally works better than ordering coffee at every address simply because they are all on the list.
