Art, photography or local history
Bonnefanten is the main art stop on the east bank. Fotomuseum puts photography beside Vrijthof. Maastricht Museum gives you a city-history visit at Centre Céramique. Choose the subject first and then plan the route around it; these are different experiences rather than interchangeable rainy-day shelters.
Church interiors
Saint Servatius and Our Lady belong to the city’s religious history and remain places of worship. Dominicanen has a different role as a bookshop inside a former church. Check visitor access and service times where relevant, and leave space for people using the buildings for reasons other than tourism.
Plan one substantial visit
For a short break, one exhibition or museum per half-day leaves room to see the streets between stops. Check current exhibitions, accessible entrances and any gallery closures before buying tickets. The individual pages below explain where each visit fits geographically.
